The tasting room of the former Truckee River Winery — Sierra wine poured on South River Street, Thursday through Sunday.
Truckee Family Wines carries on the operation long known as Truckee River Winery — famously the "highest and coldest" winemaking address in the region — from its tasting room on South River Street, a short walk from downtown Truckee's brick storefronts. A second tasting room, 174 Winery, operates down the hill in Grass Valley.
The Truckee room pours Thursday through Sunday with appointments recommended, which suits the wedding-weekend rhythm: book the group in for a Friday-afternoon flight before the rehearsal dinner, or make it the mellow chapter of a Truckee bach day between the river and dinner on Bridge Street. Note for couples: the winery no longer advertises weddings — this is a tasting stop, not a venue.
