Adventure-wedding pioneer — the photographer behind the viral Everest wedding — shooting Tahoe's peaks and shores.
Charleton Churchill helped invent the adventure-wedding genre — he photographed the first wedding at Everest base camp (the one that went around the world's news outlets), gave a 2017 TED talk on adventure weddings, and has been named a top-100 wedding photographer for the US and Canada. He lives and works between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite.
At Tahoe his portfolio runs to the venues with altitude in their veins — Kirkwood's Hideout, Edgewood's shoreline, the high decks — and to elopements that trade aisle for trail. If the wedding plan includes hiking boots, this is the shortlist's first name.
